Is an empty country road the best place to dance like nobody’s watching?
An empty country road on a summer afternoon is a strange and beautiful thing. The asphalt is cracked, the fields on both sides are wild and green, the sky is hazy and warm, and there is not a single car in sight. It is the kind of place where you could lie down in the middle of the road and only a curious bird would notice. Or, as this clip shows, you could dance.
A woman in a white top and black leggings walks out onto the road, handbag still on her arm, and simply starts moving. It begins small, a sway here, a step there, and builds into full-hearted dancing as if a song only she can hear is getting better with every chorus.
Between dance breaks the camera catches her in a polka-dot top in the tall grass, hair blowing, laughing into the wind like the summer itself just told her a joke.
There is no choreography, no mirror, no studio. That is what makes it lovely. It is the kind of dancing people do when they genuinely forget anyone could be watching, loose, happy, a little silly and completely free.
Is an empty country road the best place to dance like nobody’s watching? Without question. The road gives you room, the fields give you scenery and the silence gives you permission. The handbag even gets a little moment of glory as she swings it like a dance partner. Next time you find yourself on a quiet lane far from the city, turn up your music, put your bag over your shoulder and give it a try. The road will not judge. The grass will cheer.
Of course, the comments section would have plenty of questions. Was it planned? How many takes did it need? Who held the camera, and did they manage to keep a straight face? The beauty is that the answers do not matter. What matters is the feeling the clip leaves behind, a little spark of country road that lasts longer than the video itself. Save it, share it, and the next time someone tells you that summer cannot be entertaining, simply show them this.
